Specialist expertise in thumb arthritis and reconstruction
Mr Zaf Naqui.
Consultant Hand & Wrist Surgeon.
FRCS(Orth), FESSH · Manchester, UK
Mr Naqui treats only the hand and wrist, nothing else. He has extensive experience in thumb-base arthritis surgery, including TOUCH joint replacement, and offers patients an individual assessment of non-surgical and surgical options.
His approach combines careful decision-making, established reconstructive skills and coordinated specialist hand therapy.
A focused practice.
Mr Naqui’s practice is devoted solely to the hand and wrist. His work includes modern thumb CMC joint replacement using the TOUCH prosthesis, alongside the full range of treatments for thumb-base arthritis, from splints, therapy and injections to trapeziectomy.
Professional leadership
Mr Naqui is President of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH) for 2026–2029. His professional work includes surgical education, training and collaboration across Europe. This is biographical context: it describes his professional role, not a guarantee of individual patient outcomes.
Time to make the right decision.
A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment to surgery. Mr Naqui will assess your symptoms, review your imaging and explain the options, including non-operative treatment.
Private consultations are available in Manchester, with care at The Alexandra Hospital and Spire Manchester Hospital. The practice welcomes patients from across the UK and overseas.
